Physical Education

PE Statement of Intent

The intent of teaching PE is to give children the tools and understanding required to make a positive impact in their own physical health and well-being. We want to give all children opportunities to experience a wide variety of sports and physical skills which will impact enthusiasm, enjoyment and independent life choices. PE can challenge and promote self-esteem and resilience through the development of physical skills and confidence. It can teach children to cope with both success and failure in a competitive, individual and team based physical activities. It can also teach children fundamental communication skills needed to be successful and responsible in a range of situations. In dance, it will allow children to explore their creativity.  We intend to encourage children to be self-motivated and able to explore different physical experiences that will encourage a lifelong commitment.
