Values, Ethos and Vision including our Five Words

Vision Statement

Our school provides a safe, nurturing, family orientated environment where children are valued as individuals.

We have high educational standards, delivered through a rich and varied curriculum.  This is supported through a culture of respect for each other and high expectations for all.

Every child will leave our school with a solid foundation that enables them to engage confidently as they continue on the rest of their learning journey.  This will be supported by the attributes exemplified in our ‘Five Words’.

Environment

  •         Children feel safe and secure, with adults who they trust to support them.
  •         We take a nurturing approach to enable children to adapt to the school environment.
  •         We work in partnership with families to ensure the best outcomes for their children.
  •         Our focus is on the whole child, and every child is known well by our fantastic staff team.

Culture

  •         We strive for excellence in our teaching and hold ourselves to high educational standards, in order that all children have the best opportunities to learn and achieve.
  •         Our creative, stimulating and exciting curriculum encourages our children to develop curiosity and a motivation to learn inside the classroom and beyond.
  •         Through our curriculum, within assemblies, our school council and our everyday approach we promote British Values.
  •         The relationships between the children and adults in school are strong, positive and respectful.
  •         Inclusion of all children is at the heart of our ethos – see our SEND and Inclusion statement.

Outcomes

  •         Through their time at RGIS, children will develop a genuine love of learning and enthusiasm for knowledge.
  •         Our curriculum will prepare children for the next steps in their school journey and the world beyond.
  •         Our curriculum is founded on five key concepts; qualities than run through everything we do in school and will be instilled in the children.  These qualities are:

Responsible           Resilient            Motivated        Independent        Creative

Governors

Our Governing Body sets the strategic direction of the school and has high expectations for both the staff and the educational opportunities that we offer our children.

Parents and Carers

We encourage our parents and carers to become a part of our school vision and get involved in contributing to the life of the school.  We promote open and positive communication between parents, carers and members of staff.
